Oral Communications

  • Sessions will take place at the Symposium halls indicated in the Programme and your participation letter details. Oral abstract presenters should be close to the stage and ready for the session at least 15 minutes before its beginning, to meet the steward/hostess and ensure everything is in place;
  • Oral Abstract Presentations will be delivered at the podium, where a laptop, wireless microphone and laser pointer will be available. No personal computers will be allowed;
  • Oral Abstract Presentations should be delivered to the Speaker Ready Room (operating throughout Symposium dates) and uploaded to the presentations platform at 16:00 hrs. of the day before the meeting the very latest, to ensure there is sufficient time to check and make any adjustments to their files;
  • Each Oral Abstract Presenter is allocated a maximum of 10 minutes for presentation purposes, in order to save at least 5 minutes for Q&A and discussion. If the Oral Abstract Presenter uses more than 10 minutes, the extra time will be deducted from the time allocated to discussion;
  • Introduction of Speakers, presentations and discussion are to be made in English. No translation will be provided;
  • Presentations must have a 16:9 aspect ratio and films must be in WMV/MP4 format;
  • For reasons of compliance with UEMS accreditation guidelines, Oral Abstract Presenters are requested to fill in a Conflict of Interest statement, which should be signed and delivered to the Secretariat in printed or electronic version before the lecture takes place. In the same context, Oral Abstract Presenters are requested to include a Conflict of Interest statement as the second slide of their presentation. It is essential to ensure sufficient time to explain this to the audience. If there is no conflict of interest, this fact should also be mentioned;
  • It is the responsibility of the authors to declare any potential or actual conflict of interest in the content of their presentations. SSIEM, as well as the Local and International Organising and Scientific Committees of the 2024 Annual Symposium, cannot and will not take responsibility for non-compliant presentations. All interested parties should refer to the SSIEM abstract submission and presentation guidelines, as well as international and national rules and good practices for the ethical transmission of scientific information.
